Our History
The Eagle Academy for Young Men of Harlem is the fifth school to open in the Eagle Academy family. The first Eagle Academy for Young Men opened in the fall of 2004 in the Bronx after admitting its first freshman class. From there, the Eagle Academy for Young Men has expanded beyond its initial Bronx roots, opening three additional schools in OceanHill/Brownsville Brooklyn, South Jamaica Queens, and Newark, New Jersey, all before the opening of the Harlem school. All schools are supported by the Eagle Academy Foundation, itself a result of the initial investment of a group of educators, parents, community leaders and corporate partners, led by the One Hundred Black Men, Inc.
